I have been trying to delete a phantom calendar event from Outlook 2003. How do you exacly view calendar events by category? How do you know an event is a phantom event?

David -

I was calling them "phantom events" because they were affecting the count of events in my Outlook calendar (the number in bold next to the calendar link in the sidebar) but they didn't show up in my calendar anywhere.

As for how to find them (and you'll have to forgive me as I no longer use Outlook and so am going by memory alone), there is a button in the calendar view to change the way events are displayed. IIRC, it was in the right half of the Advanced toolbar group above the calendar. This was in Outlook 2003, and it may be completely different if you're using Outlook 2007. If you can't find it try using Help (F1) and searching for "view events by category". Happy hunting!
