The Kids

The girls have both been sick for a couple of days: feverish, head colds, congestion. You know, the really oozy kind of sick. Hopefully we've just hit the zenith in the cycle with the barf, splat! that just happened on the couch and in the bathroom. The smell of vomit is now competing with the smell of Febreeze.

We were going to go into Boston tomorrow for the NE Boat Show and to the aquarium or children's museum, but I think that's going to have to be post poned. I have to go wash the vomit off of my socks now...  

Maelin is really excited to be a big sister. We went shopping for a few things for the new baby on Sunday night and Maelin was picking out stuffed animals for her.

We spent some time at our friend Matt and Kate’s house on Saturday and Maelin got to hold a 7-month old that was also visiting with her parents Theresa and Chris. Maelin was so careful with her.

Maelin has her first dentist appointment on Wednesday. It’s more of a checkup than a cleaning. She keeps saying that one of her front teeth is hurting, and since two of her teeth never popped through we want to make sure they aren’t impacted. We’ll be going to see Dr. Tony, who was recommended by Mama and Popa’s dentist, and who our friend Oliver goes to. We’ve been trying to prepare her mentally by reading lots of books about the dentist and talking to her about it, but she still has a lot of anxiety about it. Papa will be taking her, so wish us both luck.
