I have been using the download feature, but the Clean Up button did not remove all the downloads appearing. I updated to Clean & Close and I am having the same problem -- nothing is cleaned up. Any suggestions?

I was looking for a place where I can report bug and request features. Since I could not fine one, I'll do it right here.

If the Downloads window has no entries then the "Clean Up & Close" button is disabled. Would it be possible to leave it enabled at all times? The reflex is to click that button all the time in order to dismiss the Downloads window.

Cheers,
Marius

Clean and Close was working perfectly until Firefox update to 2.0.0.11
Now it cleans but doesn't close!
Is this a program glitch or have I got a setting wrong somewhere?
Was a really great little add-on to Firefox.

@Howard/@Tegrof - I just tested Clean and Close a number of times and could not reproduce the issue you are describing. I'm on FF 2.0.0.11 and Clean And Close 2.0. I would suggest installing the extension into a clean profile and see if it works that way, in which case it would indicate a conflict with another extension. If you can debug the issue down to a specific conflict please let me know.

@Marius - This is by-design, but it's not as bad as it appears. Pressing the CLean and Close button when there are still active downloads only clears out completed and canceled items. And though it does also close the window, your active downloads continue in the background. Press CTRL-J (or click Tools -> Downloads in the menu bar) to re-open the download dialog. I've considered adding support to test for active downloads and either offer a "Clean"-only button, but have not found the time to do so.

@Chris - I don't think I was clear enough, was asking for something else. Even if the Downloads window is empty (no downloads listed at all), I would still like the "Clean and Close" button to be enabled. This way you can dismiss the window using the same button, regardless of the state of the window.

@Marius - Sorry, reading back over your question I can see that my response to you had nothing to do with what you were asking. I was actually responding to a comment on the AMO site that I had just read, and to which my answer addressed the topic perfectly :) I see what you are asking now, and I can see where that would be useful. I will look into it.

I'm hoping there are plans to update this once v3 gets released, because it seems like they have taken out the "clean up" button from the download manager altogether! Thanks for providing us with what isn't there initially!
